I received a phone call saying that a credit card of a major department store was being used illegally. Is this true?

A major department store called me and said, “Your credit card was going to be used illegally. In order to prevent damage in the future, contact the bank association.” They told me the phone number.
I don't remember losing it and am not familiar with what they are saying, but what should I do?

Instead of handling such calls, contact the credit card company's website or inquiry desk to confirm. Don't call the phone number you have been given.
